Vision 2021 - A Birthday Tribute to George Keeling

December 19, 2020 - Thank you our friends for sharing the vision.

In 1924 a man named Wallace Blankenship had a dream to bring entertainment to West Texas. He had a dream to build the finest showplace in West Texas. With hard work and a clear vision, that dream became a reality.

Almost 80 years later another man, George Keeling, had a dream. He had the vision to restore and renovate the historic Wallace Theater to help revitalize downtown Levelland.

In the video below, you will see interviews with Morgan Reatherford and Russell and Angie Vest from 2017 talking about dreams and the vision George had for the Wallace. Just three years later, George's dream and vision are coming true.

The Vision for the Wallace is to be a place that brings the community together through entertainment and programs that educate and inspire the next generation of leaders in our community.

You are part of that vision. The Wallace exists and operates today because of people like you who care about the future. Thank you for your support.

How will you continue to be a part of the Vision for the Wallace?

How will you help us achieve George's Vision for the Wallace? We can’t do it without you!

State of the Wallace

Each year we host a “State of the Wallace” lunch or breakfast for our Leadership Circle Members. This event is an opportunity to update our donors on what their contributions have accomplished each year.

State of the Wallace 2020: This year we had the opportunity to record the entire presentation and included very special live musical entertainment with Morgan Reatherford on our stage in the auditorium.

2020 has been challenging for everyone and it has taught us that we must be willing to adapt. The Wallace focused on its mission “Creating Experiences that Entertain, Inspire, and Empower.” We continued to serve the community and were leaders in our industry.

State of the Wallace 2019: This year included significant renovation progress: a New Roof on the entire building, Updated Lobby Bathrooms, the addition of an ADA accessible ramp inside the auditorium, new exit stairs, railings, doors, and lighting at the back of the auditorium.

Removal of exposed insulation on the balcony, Fresh paint on the exterior of the balcony, Removal of peeling paint along the sides of the auditorium walls and fresh paint, and Concrete foundation repair work inside the auditorium.

State of the Wallace 2018: This video, completed in early 2018 looks back at the achievements of the previous year. It describes the vision for the Wallace and lays the foundation for us to “Create the Future” we envision for our community.
