The Green Room was formerly known as Wallace Weekend Players below are previous performances and events

In the spring of 2022, our Wallace Weekend Players participated in an outstanding performance at the Outside In Festival!

These students have worked all semester to develop their own adaptation of Tall Tales - “Paul Buyan”, “Pecos Bill” and their original “Purple Martin”.

In this weekly class, we will form a theatre troupe and learn about all aspects of what it takes to put on a play successfully. We will develop the skills of improv, learn how to write a play as well as how to create costumes and direct a play. We will learn acting techniques and how to embody a role. Above all, we will have fun learning to tell stories together.

Each week we will work with a professional guest artist from Texas Tech University.  Each artist will teach a full workshop on their expertise from different theatrical fields. The 2nd half of the semester we will begin working on our end of the semester showcase. That may be a full production or readings of your own plays like we did in the fall of 2020.

The participants in the program for the spring of 2021 will help guide what the final showcase will be based on what you want to learn throughout the semester.

Fall 2020 - Final Showcase featuring readings of plays written by students

Saturday, December 12, 2020 - Levelland Middle School Auditorium

On Saturday, December 12th, the Wallace Weekend Players hosted their final showcase for the fall. 16 Levelland Middle and High Schools students each wrote their own play and oversaw casting and directing of the reading.

The students met on Saturday mornings at the Wallace Theater for classes in acting, directing, playwriting, improvisation, auditions, and more! Each class was led by Texas Tech University students working towards their Masters or Ph.D. in Theater Administration. This program was hosted by the Wallace Theater in partnership with ACE and made possible by The CH Foundation. The program will begin again next semester on Feb. 6th!
